On May 21, 2000 at 7:30 pm, Nicole’s friends congregated at 33 Roosevelt Circle, the current home of Nicole’s Odwalla Van-House, to celebrate her triumph at Nationals — which garnered her an automatic Olympic berth — and her “pre-30th” 28th birthday. Over song and drink, we marveled at Nicole’s pedal by pedal account of the race and her National Champion and Olympic jerseys. Now it’s off to Sydney, mate!
