We all know that an iPad can fit inside the tab pocket of most Scottevest jackets, but what about the new 11.6-inch MacBook Air?

The short answer is that it does fit.

There are caveats, however. The MacBook Air sticks out by about an inch and a half, and you can’t zip up the tab pocket. It also creates a visible rectangular bulge. Zipping up jacket and/or sitting down is impractical with this setup too, but this is a problem with the iPad as well1.

I’ve always wanted to travel as light as possible with a Mac, and the new 11.6-inch MacBook Air with a Scottevest makes it possible. For short day trips where I need to bring a laptop, I can see using this set up instead of bringing a backpack or messenger bag.

1 Maybe this isn’t as much a problem with larger Scottevest jackets.

That is cool! With your jacket zipped up, I couldn’t even tell from the video you had a laptop in there.
