Found a link to this video on how to create an image stabilizer for your camera with $1. Pretty good technique that I just might try during our upcoming trip to China in February.

    Excellent idea! However I doubt you’ll find it easy to carry something like that on a plane for any trips abroad – hand luggage or hold. :-(

    May sound silly but does this work given that pressing the shutter button involves a downward motion and the restraint is pulling _up_ against a downward force (the string)? The comments on the Metacafe video seem to indicate that it does work… I’ll have to try it myself!
