smugmug will be presenting at the April 13, 2005, meeting of the Camera Owners of the Bay Area. The company has been around for 30 months now and has over 60,000 customers totalling 18,000,000 images! The company is supremely dedicated to its customers and has features not seen in many of its competitors, including unlimited storage (yes, unlimited!) and a third-party developer API.
We’ll also be demonstrating the ReadyNAS 600 1TB RAID NAS box. Yes, I finally decided on my storage solution for the house. I’ll be covering details on the ReadyNAS in a future entry.
In other COBA news, I finally converted the COBA web site to WordPress. I slapped on one of the themes from the recent WordPress Theme Competition. One of these days, I’ll get around to putting a more COBA-esque theme to the site. In the meantime, feel free to subscribe to the news feed to stay informed about upcoming meetings, special deals, and more.
I also took down the COBA forums. I had been neglecting it and learned today that dozens of fake accounts had been created that were flooding the forums with various spam posts. Well that did it for me! The forums weren’t being used by that many people anyhow, so I don’t think that it will be missed.
