I have a beta release of MsgFiler ready for testing. A number of people have been using this version to resolve the -1700 blocking bug. If you are still experiencing problems after using this app, send me an email and I’ll get you a version of MsgFiler with additional logging enabled.
This release has the following fixes and improvements:
- Fixed search problem when mailbox names with double quotes
- Fixed -1700 bug when searching mailboxes
- MsgFiler window receives focus properly when activated
- Added Close Window menu option
- MsgFiler no longer beeps when moving messages using the Return key
Things left on the to do list include:
- Better Unicode support
- Better compatibility with third-party mail plug-ins
You can download the latest beta release on the MsgFiler webpage.
For starters – congrats on MsgFiler. It rocks.
However, I have a request: before I can drive mail.app solely from the keyboard I would like a shortcut to select ‘show’ rather than ‘move.
Ie. I can select a folder and press enter to move a message, but I’d like to be able to select a folder and press another key (perhaps ~ or similar) to select ‘Show’. That way I could navigate around mail.app without any mouse, and I would know how god feels when he navigates around mail.app without any mouse.
Brett:
You can do this already. Click on the Show button or hit Command-O when a mailbox is selected.
Adam,
Is MsgFiler still being actively developed? It’s been quite some time since the last update. I really like it and I would buy it but it needs a couple improvements and I’m hesitant to buy it if there’s no hope of further updates.
BTW, the improvements I’m looking for is to have the option of restricting the list of folders to the current email account and/or have the option of prefixing folder names with the account name (I have a number of accounts and some have the same folder names… in this situation it is currently impossible to identify the proper folder.)
Thanks,
Corey
Yes, I’m readying up another release of MsgFiler soon. One of the features being added is showing the account name in the mailbox list.
