WP-SmugMug 2

WP-SmugMug 2 is here! This plugin completely replaces the previous version that I wrote several years ago. It has a number of great new features, including the ability to display photos from multiple galleries within the same post or page in WordPress. Read more about the plugin here.

Here’s an example of the plugin in use from my wedding invitations gallery on SmugMug:
[smugmug url=”http://photos.tow.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=gallery&Data=3946626_hAvdM&format=rss200″ title=”Wedding%20Invitations” description=”We%20designed%20these%20wedding%20invitations%20based%20on%20various%20movies%20throughout%20the%20years.%20Can%20you%20name%20them%20all%3F” imagecount=”100″ start=”1″ thumbsize=”Th” link=”lightbox” captions=”false” sort=”true” window=”false” smugmug=”false” size=”XL”]

The plugin is also available on WordPress’ Extend Plugins website.

  1. Hi,
I really love the idea of this plugin; however, I’m having a heck of a time getting it to work on my blog. I’ve just got a test of it on the most recent post at my blog, but all I’m seeing is a text link stating, “View photos at SmugMug”. I’ve tried using different feeds, both RSS and atom from multiple galleries, and get the same thing. I verified that all of my galleries are set to be public, and to allow external links. I’d like to get this to work with Lightbox, but for now, just getting the thumbnails to appear on my site would be great. Could you point me in the right direction? Here’s the code I’ve got inserted into my WordPress post:

    [smugmug url=”feed://photos.bemyyokoono.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=gallery&Data=6967934_zRtRt&format=atom10″]

    Thank you!

  2. OK — after more experimenting, I think I’ve found the issue. I was getting the RSS feed address from Safari, which changes the opening of the URL from “http” to “feed”. Once I realized that, I changed the URL in the wp-smugmug short code, and things worked perfectly. Thank you for the great job on this piece of software!
